Hyeholde

My first time to Hyeholde was just a few short months ago in April for our one year wedding anniversary, and I instantly fell in love. Hyeholde is a hidden gem located in Coraopolis PA built in the 1930’s full of rich history and charm.

A winding wooded entrance leads you up to a beautiful French Château with stunning  architectural detail everywhere you look. Impressive gardens encompass the grounds and add to the whimsical natural beauty of the property. The stained-glass windows, stone pathway, and intricate wood door invites you in for one of the best meals and service you’ll ever have.

Inside the beauty continues. We were seated in the main room in front of a glowing fireplace and a window view which made me happy to continue looking upon the garden flowers. The table was set with the original blue and white plates dating back to the 1980’s. Hyeholde sources their food locally and saying it’s made from scratch would be an understatement. Executive Chef/ Owner Chris O’ Brien and his team create culinary masterpieces.  From the buttery and flake salt bread and crackers that was accompanied by creamy butter and fruit chutney, to the grilled mushroom bruschetta, elk striploin, prime beef Delmonico, the chocolate and raspberry dessert, and the woodsman cocktail, everything was perfection. I was hooked.

This past week for my birthday, it was a no brainer where I wanted to go. Chef Chris and the Hyeholde team were hosting a grilling, rubs, and BBQ cooking class and dinner. Getting to watch Chris work, learning some tricks of the trade, and having a full three course meal afterwards was a real treat. The gazpacho soup, ribs, grilled street corn, pickles, coleslaw, and grilled peach cake was of course incredible.

I was so inspired by the beauty and history of Hyeholde, and the numerous fresh flower arrangements inside, that I decided to bring one of my own. Although I had many ideas of arrangements to make I loved the simplicity of the blue and white plates and modeled my arrangement after it to have a cottage blue and white floral vibe in a ceramic white pitcher.

I won’t continue to tell you about every special detail of Hyeholde, go see for yourself! Hyeholde has more than a weekly dinner service, they have classes, themed dinner events, picnics, chefs table, and more.

To Chef Chris and his team, Jason, Matthew, and Michael that I have met so far, thank you for being so welcoming and sharing your talents.
